Tomadia is the creative partnership of photographer and designer Matilda Kjell and producer-artist Toby Jacobs, a Brooklyn-based duo with roots in Sweden and Chicago. Partners in both life and work, they merge photography, design, and film into a collaborative practice defined by curiosity, craft, and a refined visual perspective.
With an approach that balances Scandinavian minimalism and American boldness, Tomadia works across industries—fashion, beauty, design, and the arts—creating imagery and campaigns that are as conceptually sharp as they are visually striking.

About Toby Jacobs:
Toby Jacobs is a senior producer, photographer, and entrepreneur whose career bridges global commercial production and the art world. A Chicago native, he founded Department 4 Productions in Los Angeles, operating for over a decade as a hub for film and photography projects, before co-founding Qyre, a digital platform designed to connect freelancers in the creative industries.
As a producer with Surrender Pictures, Toby has led complex, large-scale campaigns for major global brands including Samsung, Honda, PepsiCo, and Lindblad Expeditions, collaborating with top agencies and clients around the world. In parallel, his work in the art and culture space has included producing content for institutions and brands such as TEFAF, PACE Gallery, Sotheby’s, and Julien’s Auctions, where his storytelling bridges fine art with broad, accessible audiences.
An artist in his own right, Toby brings to Tomadia a multidisciplinary eye and a passion for creating work that lives between commerce and culture—always with an emphasis on authenticity, detail, and narrative clarity.
About Matilda Kjell:
Matilda Kjell is a Swedish-born photographer and graphic designer whose work is rooted in a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. She began her photographic studies in Santa Barbara, California, before continuing in Milan, Italy, where she graduated valedictorian while building her reputation as a fashion photographer, retoucher, and visual artist.
For over eight years, Matilda worked independently out of Stockholm, collaborating with agencies, brands, and cultural institutions across Scandinavia and Europe. Her client list includes Spendrups, MENU, Ia Bon, CoDesign Architect, Beijing 8, Fotografiska, Toni & Guy, and FLB, among others.
Today, based in New York, Matilda is emerging as one of the most distinctive photographers in the skincare and beauty space, working with leading agencies like Evolve MKD and their wide roster of clients, including Revance Aesthetics, Cutera, Skin Spectrum, and MM Skincare. Her style—crisp, modern, and deeply attuned to form and texture—reflects her passion for design, fashion, and fine art, and it defines Tomadia’s signature visual language.
